Bob married Mary Ann Wall in the District of Sheffield in 1862 and had three children, Kate Emily, Robert Marsden & Lucy. The family resided at 110, Harvest Lane, Brightside Bierlow in 1871 and between 1881 & 1891 at 58, Westgate, Bradford. In 1871 he was a fully fledged Butcher but was running an Eatery between 1881 & 1891 as well as being a Time Keeper in 1881 and in 1901 was a Widower managing the White Bear, 4, Hall Gate, Doncaster with his Daughter Lucy and her family. Robert was still a Licensed Victualler residing at 21, Spring Gardens, Doncaster, Yorkshire. His daughter and her family now lived with him.

In 1871 the family resided at Worsbrough Dale and in 1881 at Mill House, Eckington, Chesterfield. John was Tailor in 1861 then a Book-keeper in 1871 but also became Secretary and Colliery Manager at Boythorpe Colliery. He was also a Wesleyan Local Preacher. On 24th December 1885 he died at Boythorpe, Chesterfield. On Christmas Eve 1885, as he was leaving work with his pockets full of Christmas Presents for his children. He was struck by a locomotive used for pulling wagons at the pit and was killed instantly. A Coroners inquest was held on 26th December 1885. He was buried at Spital Cemetery, Chesterfield on 29th December 1885.

They had daughters Edith Annie, b 1896, Thurlstone and Amy, b 1898, Thurlstone), Elizabeth, b 1864, Thurlstone but died soon after birth, Tommy, b 1869, Thurlstone and John Willie, b 1872, Thurlstone, d 1905,  Occupation Labourer. They also resided with her mother when first married at Low Bottom, Thurlstone but in 1871 resided at Bank, Thurlstone.She then married (2) Benjamin Silverwood on 22nd June 1891 at Thurlstone. They resided at Stocksbridge in 1901. Eliza died on 17th January 1904 at Stocksbridge.
