In 1861 he was a Hurrier in a Coal Mine and was still a Coal Miner in 1891. He died on 11th September 1928 at 41, Third Street, New Crofton, Wakefield with his son Alfred in attendance.

In 1881 the family resided at Chorlton County Barracks, Canaley Barracks, Hulme, Lancashire where he was listed as a Private but between in 1891 and 1901 were living at 21, Vineyard Street, Colchester. Francis was a Wire Drawer in 1891 and in 1901 was a Labourer. He died in 1926.

She married Ephraim Thickett on 30th January 1871 in the district of Barnsley and had eight children, Harold, Joseph, George Robert, John William, Thomas, James Ephraim Hammerton, Isabella & Austin. In 1871 she and her new husband resided at 3, Smithy Green, Monk Bretton, Barnsley and in 1881 at 22, Albion Terrace, Barnsley. In 1891 they lived at Hill Top, Carlton, Barnsley. The family moved around to various Collieries in Yorkshire and Durham until finally Ephraim left mining to become a publican. Unfortunately he became an alcoholic. In 1901 she was a widow living at 20, Hawson Street, Wombwell with her children. Jane to migrated to Australia with her children in 1912 and died on 6th May 1924 at Helensburg, New South Wales. Cause of death, Cerebral Haemorrhage. On 7th May 1924 she was buried at Helensburg Church of England Cemetery, her gravestone also contains a memorial to her youngest son Austin who has no known grave.

Ann married George Danforth in 1868 in the District of Caistor and had ten children, Anne, Maria, Harold, Emily Ethel, Violet, George William, Cyril, Lillian, Rose & Frank Luke.  In 1871 the family resided at 3, Fronting the Marsh, Grimsby, in 1881 at 6, Fronting Railway, Grimsby and in 1891 at 168, King Edward Street, Grimsby.

Charles John Harrison

Charles was baptised on 3rd November 1887 at Chesterfield. Theodore, Herbert and Charles stayed with their mother after their father's death at first in Chesterfield and then with her new husband to Hall End, Polesworth, Tamworth. They attended Unstone board school paying 2d a week for their education. Herbert and Charles went to Polesworth Board School, Tamworth. Charles then went on to Atherstone Grammar School, after which Reuben Allen arranged for him to work at the Thompson & Southwick's Foundry at Tamworth where he had to paint a pit-head winding pulley. Charles did not like the job and his mother, worried about his ear trouble and deafness, arranged for him to be apprenticed as a joiner to his brother in law John Calow. Again he was not happy and moved on to Staveley Ironworks, where he moved on to foreman at Daglish's Iron-furnaces at Ashfordby, Melton Mowbray. He married Florence Nellie Insley in Melton Mowbray in 1913 and had one child, John Insley. He died on 21st July 1939 at Ashfordby, Melton Mowbray.

She married Joseph Goldthorpe in 1878 in Barnsley and had nine children, Esther Jane, Mary Ann, Joseph Harrison, Sarah, Arthur, William, Frederick, Lilian & George. The family resided at 6, Rail Crown Yard, Worsbrough in 1881 and in 1891 at 3, Green Row, Worsbrough.

She was a Scholar in 1881. Frances married John Thomas Calow in 1896 at Chesterfield and had two children, Ann & Elsie. In 1901 the family resided at Brimington Common, Brimington, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. She died on 30th May 1963 at Chesterfield.

Theodore, Herbert and Charles stayed with their mother after their father's death at first in Chesterfield and then with her new husband to Hall End, Polesworth, Tamworth. He married Lotty Elizabeth Starr in 1910 at Nottingham and had one child, Frances Mary.

He was a Commercial Clerk in 1901. Herbert died on 3rd April 1974 at Nuneaton, Warwickshire. He was living at Drayton Court, Cedar Road, Nuneaton when he died.

He was a Scholar in 1881. After the death of his father Norton firstly went into a children's home with his brother Sydney. Daniel Hammerton took the boys out of the home and secured jobs for them. He married Mary Jane Teal in 1903 and had four children, John Clifford, Frances Ethel, Ronald Melvin & Edna M. He started in the Butchery trade by 1891, learning his trade from his Cousin, Alfred Myers. Norton became a Cattle Dealer and Judge of Cattle and eventually was a Master Butcher of Edderthorpe Lane in Darfield. He died on 1st June 1948 at Barnsley. At the time of his death he was living at Knabbs Hill Farm, Thurnscoe.
