The family emigrated to Australia first on 19th February 1964 On Qantas flight 531/244 (The Queen of Brisbane) from London Heathrow airport, arrived at Sydney's Mascot airport via, the USA, New York, San Francisco, Honolulu, Nadi Fiji, arrived 21st February 1964.  After a stay at an immigration camp at Banks Town, New South Wales left Australia for a short stay in Wellington, New Zealand. He then moved on to Fremantle Western Australia afterwards. On 14th August 1965 he sailed on the SS Flavia V12 to return home to the UK via the Suez cannel, Italy and arrived on 8th September 1965.  After 6 years in 1971 he sailed on the SS Australis via Germany, the Canary Islands, South Africa, Australia to New Zealand, accompanied by Sydney John Griffiths, then 85 years old. After another short stay at Wellington they sailed to Western Australia on the SS Achille Lauro V27 arriving at 7:30am on 20th October 1971 at Fremantle harbour (Apparently it was raining). On 4 March 1975 he sailed on P & O's SS Oronsay for Sydney New South Wales then on to New Zealand on P & O's SS Oriana. After another short stay in Auckland he returned to Western Australia via Melbourne on P & O's SS Chitral, and drove across the Nullabour to Perth. He has been on a South Pacific cruise on P & O's SS Arcadi, and had several holidays since to the UK, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore and South Australia. He said he had "Gypsy's blood" in him. He died of Heart and Kidney failure on 18th April 2006 at Fremantle Hospital, Fremantle, Western Australia and was buried on 25th April 2006 at Fremantle Cemetery, Fremantle, Western Australia.
