In 1901 the family resided at 10, Mill Lane, Upholland. He was a Labourer in a Brick Yard in 1901. He died on 4th May 1954 in Bradford.

He then married (2) Alice Hembs and had another seven children, John, Roy Max, Dorothy, Hilda, Samuel Thomas, Beatrice & Nellie.  In 1891 he was a Coal Miner. William died on VE Day, 8th May 1945 at 108, Ruspidge Road, Cinderford, Gloucestershire and on 12th May 1945 was buried at St John Church, Cinderford, Gloucestershire.
